Heritage Boxing Entertainment has announced the Pan-African professional boxing championship, “The President Belt,” scheduled for April 2026 in Nigeria, promising a showcase of top boxing talent from across Africa and beyond.
The championship, organised to celebrate sporting excellence, honours the life and legacy of Alhaja Abibatu Ashabi Mogaji, mother of President Bola Tinubu. Organisers say the event will spotlight African boxing talent and help raise the sport’s profile in West Africa.
Chinedu Okeke, CEO of Heritage Boxing Entertainment, expressed gratitude to principal sponsors, the ‘Gbaja For Governor’ group, noting their support underscores the importance of investing in youth and sports development.
The fight card will feature elite Nigerian boxers including undefeated middleweight Oluwatobi Samson, national champion Chinwendu “Flash” Akaolisa, and soldier-fighter Godwin Ambrose. International competitors are also expected, including Pape Sow from Senegal. Other confirmed fighters include Nigeria’s Akingbade Ifeoluwa, Francis Tokpo of Benin, Hounkpatin Komlangan from Togo, Ayobami Samson, Daniel Akande, and US-based Jennifer Odhegba.
