Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has hosted a joint wedding ceremony for nine children of fallen and serving security personnel in Abuja, in a move aimed at supporting families affected by national service.
The ceremony, which attracted senior government officials, military officers and community leaders, was described as part of Matawalle’s broader commitment to welfare and social responsibility.
Speaking at the event, the minister said the initiative was designed to honour the sacrifices of security personnel while easing the financial burden on their families. He stressed that supporting the families of those who defend the nation remains a moral obligation.
Matawalle urged the couples to uphold values of unity, patience and mutual respect, adding that strong family structures are essential for national stability.
