Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State on Tuesday presided over the third meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) reconciliation and strategy committee, as the party intensifies efforts to strengthen unity ahead of future political engagements.
The meeting, held in Abuja, brought together senior party leaders, governors, and members of the National Working Committee to review progress made in resolving internal disputes and building consensus across party structures nationwide.
Speaking at the session, AbdulRazaq said the committee remains focused on ensuring stability within the party, noting that unity is essential for the APC to sustain its electoral successes and deliver on its promises to Nigerians.
He explained that the committee has been meeting regularly to address concerns raised by party members at different levels, including issues related to leadership structure, membership integration, and preparations for upcoming elections.

Party sources said the committee also reviewed reports from various states, particularly where disagreements among party stakeholders had affected local party activities.
According to insiders, the leadership expressed satisfaction with progress made so far, but stressed the need for continued dialogue to prevent divisions.
Several governors present at the meeting reaffirmed their commitment to the committee’s work, describing reconciliation as a necessary step toward maintaining the APC’s position as the leading political party in the country.
Members of the National Assembly who attended the meeting also urged the committee to ensure fairness in handling disputes, warning that unresolved conflicts could weaken the party ahead of future contests.
The committee was set up by the APC leadership following complaints from some members who alleged exclusion from party decisions after the last general elections.
Political analysts believe the reconciliation efforts are part of a broader strategy to prepare the party early for the 2027 elections, with the leadership keen to avoid internal crises that affected some parties in the past.
Observers say the outcome of the committee’s work could determine how effectively the APC manages its growing membership and maintains discipline within its ranks.
The meeting ended with a resolution to continue consultations with stakeholders across all states before the committee submits its final recommendations to the party leadership.
