President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted 32 additional ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation, expanding the list he began earlier in the week with three names. The latest batch includes 15 career diplomats and 17 non-career nominees.

In separate letters to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the President urged lawmakers to fast-track the confirmation process. The new list features ten women—four in the career category and six in the non-career group.

Notable non-career nominees include former presidential aide Ogbonnaya Kalu (Abia), former INEC chairman Mahmud Yakubu, former Ekiti First Lady Erelu Angela Adebayo, former Enugu governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and political commentator Reno Omokri (Delta). Also named are former Lagos deputy governor Femi Pedro, former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode, former Oyo First Lady Florence Ajimobi, former Abia governor Okezie Ikpeazu, and Senator Jimoh Ibrahim.

The list further includes former senators Nora Ladi Daduut and Grace Bent, alongside former Lagos Commissioner Lola Akande and Ambassador Paul Oga Adikwu.

The career nominees span several states, with names such as Enebechi Monica Okwuchukwu (Abia), Yakubu Nyaku Danladi (Taraba), Miamuna Ibrahim Besto (Adamawa), Musa Musa Abubakar (Kebbi), Syndoph Paebi Endoni (Bayelsa), and Chima Geoffrey Lioma David (Ebonyi). According to the Presidency, the nominees will be posted to countries with which Nigeria maintains key diplomatic partnerships, including China, India, South Korea, Canada, the UAE, Qatar, South Africa, and Kenya, as well as multilateral missions such as the United Nations, UNESCO, and the African Union. Exact postings will be assigned once the Senate completes its screening.

More nominations are expected in the coming days, the Presidency said.
