President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as the Renewed Hope Ambassador ahead of the nationwide rollout of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, also makes Uzodimma the Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement and Mobilisation.
In this dual role, he will work closely with the All Progressives Congress leadership and state governors to promote and coordinate the administration’s programmes across the country.
Uzodimma, who chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, is expected to spearhead efforts to strengthen party cohesion, broaden engagement at the grassroots, and communicate the government’s policies more effectively.
He will also oversee strategic mobilisation efforts, with APC governors designated as Ambassadors of Hope in their respective states.
President Tinubu charged Uzodimma and the governors to amplify the administration’s achievements since 2023, highlighting reforms that have begun to reshape key sectors of the economy.
He pointed to sustained economic stabilisation, noting that inflation has now eased for seven consecutive months, settling at 16.05 percent in October. Foreign exchange reserves have risen to over $46 billion, a significant recovery from the net $4 billion inherited in 2023, while the exchange rate has firmed up in recent months.
The President also referenced renewed investor interest, underscored by increased foreign direct and portfolio inflows, particularly in the oil, gas, and solid minerals sectors.
The stock market continues to post strong gains, and over 700,000 students have enrolled under the government’s educational loan programme. Additionally, processing times for international passports have been reduced to under a week.
In a message to Uzodimma, President Tinubu urged him to ensure that Nigerians fully understand the progress made under the Renewed Hope Agenda and to drive wider awareness of ongoing reforms.
The announcement was issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on November 25, 2025.
