Oluremi Tinubu

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Thursday offered prayers for Nigeria and its leaders during a special service at Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The service formed part of activities marking Nigeria’s state visit to the United Kingdom and drew religious leaders, diplomats, and members of the Nigerian community in London.

Speaking during the gathering, the First Lady emphasised the importance of love, unity, and forgiveness, saying nations can only prosper when leaders govern with compassion and citizens act with understanding toward one another.

She prayed for wisdom for political leaders in Nigeria and across the world, urging them to place the welfare of the people above personal interests.

Oluremi Tinubu said Nigeria remains a country of great potential and diversity, but stressed that peace and cooperation are necessary for the nation to achieve its full promise.

She also encouraged Nigerians in the diaspora to remain good ambassadors of the country and contribute positively to national development.

Clerics at the service offered prayers for Nigeria’s stability, economic recovery, and security, asking for divine guidance for those in positions of authority.

The event was attended by senior church officials and representatives of the Anglican Communion, who welcomed the First Lady and commended Nigeria’s longstanding ties with the United Kingdom.

The visit to Lambeth Palace is considered significant, as it reflects both diplomatic and religious connections between the two countries.

Oluremi Tinubu said faith remains a powerful tool for healing divisions and building stronger societies, adding that Nigerians must continue to pray for unity.

She concluded by urging leaders at all levels to serve with humility and integrity.
