Ngeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called for a renewed national commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and empowerment for persons with disabilities as the world marks the 2025 International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

In a message released on Wednesday, she highlighted the theme of this year’s commemoration, “Fostering Disability-Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress,” describing it as a reminder of the nation’s duty to ensure equal opportunities for all citizens regardless of physical or cognitive challenges.

She emphasized that building an inclusive Nigeria goes beyond support it requires creating environments that guarantee independence, active participation, and meaningful contribution to national development.

The First Lady said the day reinforces the collective responsibility to strengthen systems that protect and uplift persons with disabilities, enabling them to thrive in education, employment, and community life.

Senator Tinubu congratulated Nigerians with disabilities, acknowledging their resilience and the valuable roles they play across society. She urged stakeholders, government institutions, and the public to deepen efforts toward disability-friendly reforms.

“Happy International Day of Persons with Disability 2025,” she added, celebrating the occasion with millions of Nigerians and global advocates working toward a more accessible world.
