The Chairman of the House Committee on Population and Member representing Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, Hon. (Omo’ba) Okunjimi Odimayo, on Sunday met with party leaders across the thirteen wards of Okitipupa Local Government to brief them on constituency projects and seek support for his re-election bid.
The meeting, coordinated by Chief Wole Akeremale under the Odimayo Second Term Project, was convened to reaffirm stakeholders’ support for the lawmaker, highlighting his performance and dedication over the past two and a half years.
Addressing the leaders, Odimayo formally declared his intention to seek a second term, noting that experience enhances legislative efficiency. He provided updates on ongoing and upcoming constituency initiatives, acknowledging delays in some projects due to Federal Government mobilisation processes, and assured that work would resume promptly.
Odimayo highlighted key achievements, including the facilitation of employment opportunities for 42 graduates, construction of the 2km Ode-Irele–Igbisin-Oloto Road, empowerment of 290 trainees with motorcycles and financial support, provision of fertilizers for farmers, construction of a six-block classroom at Arerin Grammar School, and establishment of a solar-powered medical laboratory centre in Ode-Irele. He also cited the Okitipupa Greenhouse Project, installation of over 1,000 solar streetlights, and ongoing works on an ultramodern hospital and remodelling of township halls.

The lawmaker praised Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, describing his performance as a justification of his mandate, and urged constituents to continue supporting state government initiatives.
Several ward leaders commended Odimayo’s stewardship. High Chief S.A. Lupo lauded his representation and pledged full backing for a second term, while Mr. Niyi Adebusoye cited his committee chairmanship as evidence of competence. Bashorun Tony Medunoye highlighted achievements in youth employment and infrastructure, affirming that Odimayo is eligible for re-election. Other leaders, including former Council Boss Hon. Morenike Alaka, Pastor Megbonwon, Mr. Ogungbemi Idowu, and Princess Dupe Adetuwo, expressed satisfaction with his performance and assured continued support.
The event concluded with prayers for Odimayo’s successful re-election, led by Chief Lupo, and was attended by notable figures such as Hon. Ola Oguntimehin Alaspart, Hon. Gbenga Akinrinlola, Hon. Idowu Edema, and members of Odimayo’s campaign team including Hon. Chief Femi Moyegun, Hon. Stephen Olowodasa, Hon. Sayo Ogunmade, and others.
