Governor Hope Uzodimma says Nigeria is on the path to victory against insecurity and economic hardship, insisting that a stronger and more united country is achievable.

He made the remarks in Lagos during the South West APC Stakeholders Meeting, held after a two-day engagement of the Progressive Governors Forum.

Uzodimma, who is the National Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, praised the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu, saying they are already producing positive outcomes despite the initial difficulties faced by citizens.

He likened the state of the nation before Tinubu’s administration to “a barren woman looking for a child,” noting that the current policies are the “fertility drugs” enabling recovery and growth. According to him, “We are not after excuses. We are interested in results.”

Speaking on behalf of the Progressive Governors Forum, he expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their resilience in the face of rising prices and other challenges linked to the reforms. He assured citizens that their sacrifices are not in vain and that a more united and prosperous Nigeria remains the ultimate goal.

Addressing concerns over recent increases in kidnappings and terror activities, Uzodimma remained confident that the country will overcome insurgency.

He questioned the sources of funding for criminal networks and stressed that governors elected under the APC remain united behind the President’s security agenda. “Nigeria must win,” he said, adding that the administration’s determination to restore peace is backed by divine guidance.

The governor also highlighted his new role leading the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a nationwide movement designed to spread awareness of government achievements and expand grassroots economic participation.

He said ambassadors at the zonal, state, local government, and ward levels will work closely with the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme.

The target, he announced, is to support the establishment of 1,000 active businesses in every ward across the country, strengthening local economies and creating jobs.

Uzodimma pointed to the significant increase in FAAC allocations to states as one of the indicators of progress under the current administration.

He urged party members and citizens to remain steadfast, assuring them that the reforms will continue to translate into tangible improvements in lives and communities nationwide.
