Nigeria’s diplomatic relationship with the United States remains “warm and robust,” Presidential Spokesperson Sunday Dare affirmed during an interview with veteran TV journalist Greta Van Susteren of Newsmax Media on Tuesday.

Speaking from Washington, D.C., Dare highlighted the decades-long partnership between the two nations, noting its foundation in shared values of democracy, trade, and security cooperation. “Our ties are not only historic but continue to evolve positively, reflecting mutual respect and common goals,” he said.

The spokesperson emphasized that collaboration spans multiple sectors, including economic development, regional security initiatives, and democratic governance. He pointed out that both countries are committed to deepening engagements that promote stability and prosperity in Africa and beyond.

Dare also underscored Nigeria’s strategic role in global affairs, particularly in West Africa, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening ties with international partners to advance national and regional interests.

The interview comes amid growing discussions about U.S.-Africa relations and Nigeria’s increasing influence as a political and economic leader on the continent. Analysts note that such high-profile engagements help reinforce the long-standing diplomatic, trade, and security cooperation between Abuja and Washington.
