Imo State marked its 50th anniversary, reflecting on five decades of growth, resilience, and collective achievements. Governor Hope Uzodimma led the celebrations, expressing gratitude for the grace that has sustained the state since its creation and urging citizens to recommit to the ideals upon which Imo was founded.
The golden jubilee kicked off with an interdenominational service at Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square (RANKS), bringing together people from different faiths to unite in prayer, thanksgiving, and reflection. Governor Uzodimma described the service as a fitting starting point for the celebrations, emphasizing the importance of remembering the sacrifices of past leaders who laid the foundation for the state’s progress.
“Today, we reflect on our journey with deep gratitude and look forward with renewed hope,” the governor said. He highlighted that the golden jubilee is an opportunity not only to celebrate past achievements but also to inspire collective efforts toward a brighter future for Imo State.

Governor Uzodimma reaffirmed his confidence that Imo State will continue to grow in peace, progress, and prosperity, ensuring that the next generations inherit a stronger, more inclusive society.
