The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has recovered a total of ₦37.44 billion and $2.35 million in stolen public funds in 2025, the ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, has disclosed.
Dr. Aliyu made the announcement while providing an update on the commission’s activities, noting that the recoveries were achieved through investigations, prosecutions, and strategic interventions across ministries, departments, and agencies.
According to Dr. Aliyu, the funds were recovered from cases involving contract inflation, diversion of public resources, payroll fraud, and other corruption-related offences. Some recoveries were voluntary refunds, while others followed court orders and ongoing prosecutions.
He emphasized that the commission also intensified efforts to block revenue leakages and strengthen transparency in public finance management, stressing that prevention remains a key focus alongside enforcement.
Dr. Aliyu reaffirmed ICPC’s commitment to collaborating with other anti-graft agencies to ensure accountability and deter corruption at all levels of government.
