Hope Uzodimma

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has marked six years in office with a message of gratitude to the people of the state, highlighting what he described as measurable progress in governance, security, and infrastructure development.

In a statement commemorating the milestone, Uzodimma thanked Imo residents for their support and resilience, noting that the journey since his assumption of office has been both challenging and transformative. He said his administration remained focused on rebuilding trust in government while laying foundations for sustainable growth.

The governor pointed to improvements in security across major parts of the state, recalling that his early days in office were dominated by rising insecurity and attacks on public institutions. According to him, coordinated efforts with federal security agencies have helped restore relative calm, enabling economic and social activities to resume.

Uzodimma also listed road construction and rehabilitation as a major achievement, citing the completion and ongoing execution of strategic road projects linking urban and rural communities. He said these projects were designed to boost commerce, ease transportation, and attract investors to the state.

On the economy, the governor said his administration prioritised civil service reforms, prompt payment of salaries, and improved internally generated revenue. He added that investments in healthcare and education were beginning to yield results, with upgraded hospitals and renovated schools across the state.

Uzodimma acknowledged that not all expectations had been met, admitting that economic pressures and insecurity posed setbacks. However, he assured residents that lessons learned over the past six years would guide the remaining period of his tenure.

Political leaders, traditional rulers, and party supporters have since sent congratulatory messages, praising the governor for what they described as steady leadership during difficult times.

As he enters the next phase of his administration, Uzodimma pledged renewed commitment to inclusive governance, urging Imo citizens to remain united in pursuit of peace and development.
