President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to embrace peace, unity, and collective responsibility as the country continues to confront economic and security challenges, urging citizens to support government efforts toward national stability.
Speaking shortly after observing Eid prayers at the National Eid Ground in Abuja on Friday, the President said the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr should remind Nigerians of the importance of sacrifice, compassion, and mutual understanding. He stressed that the country could only overcome its current difficulties through cooperation between government and citizens.
Tinubu said his administration remains committed to restoring economic growth, strengthening national security, and improving the welfare of Nigerians, noting that reforms being implemented require patience and shared sacrifice.

According to him, the spirit of Ramadan, which emphasises discipline and charity, should continue beyond the fasting period and reflect in the conduct of leaders and followers alike.
The President urged religious leaders to continue praying for the country, adding that spiritual guidance and moral discipline are necessary for national progress.
He also appealed to Nigerians to avoid actions capable of deepening ethnic or religious divisions, saying unity remains the country’s greatest strength.
Tinubu assured that the Federal Government is intensifying efforts to tackle insecurity across the country, particularly in the North-West and North-East regions, where banditry and insurgency have affected communities.
He said security agencies have been directed to sustain operations aimed at protecting lives and property, while also working with local leaders to address the root causes of conflict.
The President further noted that the government is implementing social and economic programmes designed to cushion the impact of reforms, including support for small businesses, farmers, and vulnerable households.
He thanked Nigerians for their resilience, saying the administration understands the hardship many citizens are facing but remains confident that the reforms will yield long-term benefits.
Tinubu concluded by urging Nigerians to use the Eid celebration to strengthen family ties, help the needy, and pray for peace, stressing that national development requires the participation of all.
