The ruling All Progressives Congress APC has announced that its South-West zonal congress will hold on March 25 in Lagos as part of preparations for the party’s national convention.
In a statement released by the party’s national secretariat, the congress is expected to bring together delegates from the six South-West states to elect zonal officers and deliberate on party affairs.
Party officials said the exercise is in line with the APC constitution and is aimed at strengthening internal democracy and unity within the party ahead of future elections.

The South-West zone, which includes Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti states, is considered a stronghold of the APC and plays a key role in national party decisions.
Leaders of the party in the region have called on members to conduct themselves peacefully during the congress, stressing the need for consensus and cooperation.
According to the statement, security arrangements have been put in place to ensure a smooth exercise, while accreditation of delegates will begin early on the day of the congress.
Party stakeholders are also expected to review political developments in the region and discuss strategies for strengthening the APC’s position ahead of future elections.
Officials said the congress will reaffirm the party’s commitment to discipline, loyalty, and respect for its constitution.
The APC leadership urged members to avoid actions capable of causing division, noting that unity remains essential for the party’s continued dominance.
The congress is expected to be attended by governors, lawmakers, and senior party leaders from across the South-West.
