Comrade Ayodele Adewale

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State on Tuesday intensified its digital membership modernisation efforts as Comrade Ayodele Adewale led the state’s high-level Train-the-Trainer session for the ongoing national E-Registration exercise.

The session, held on 18 November 2025 at the APC State Secretariat in Ikeja, drew top party leaders who commended Adewale and his team for what they described as an efficient and well-coordinated rollout.

Adewale, the APC Lagos State Organising Secretary and Coordinator of the state’s E-Registration programme, has been overseeing digital mobilisation across Lagos’ 20 local government areas — a process party leaders say positions the state as a model for the APC’s transition from analog to digital membership management.

The training brought together senatorial administrators and key coordinators who will manage the digital registration across their respective zones. Those present included Dr. Seriki Muritala (Lagos East), Mr. Opeoluwa Adebonu-Topronu (Lagos West II), Alhaji Sharafadeen Ibrahim (Lagos West I), Mr. Abdul Waliu Balogun (Lagos East), and Mr. Patrick Oyadina (Lagos Central), all tasked with overseeing operations in their designated senatorial districts.

A high-powered delegation of senior party figures attended to demonstrate institutional support for the reform. The delegation was led by Prince Tajudeen Olusi, Deputy Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), alongside Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, Chief Henry Ajomale, Chief Tunde Balogun, Alhaji Mutiu Are, and Hon. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas. Also in attendance were all 57 LGA and LCDA chairmen and women, led by Hon. Sesan Olowa, and all APC LGA/LCDA party chairmen and women, led by Hon. L. A. Dally-Adeokun.

During the session, Adewale outlined the strategic importance of the e-registration system. He said the digital platform would improve member mobilisation, strengthen demographic profiling, enhance financial contribution tracking, support the transparent conduct of primaries, and enable real-time communication and decision-making. He noted that the training marked the first phase of a multi-level capacity-building process.

The next phase, scheduled for 25 November, will involve training the 20 APC Local Government Supervisors, who will, in turn, train ward agents responsible for registering members across all wards in Lagos.

Adewale urged party leaders to mobilise members early and ensure they attend registration with their National Identification Number (NIN) and Voter’s Card, which he described as mandatory for the digital exercise. He projected that Lagos, given its large political base, is positioned to produce over five million registered APC members — the highest in the country.

During a test demonstration, Dr. Seriki Muritala registered Alhaji Mutiu Are, the GAC Secretary, making him the first ward-level e-registered member in Lagos State.

APC Lagos State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, alongside other senior party figures, praised Adewale for his organisational competence and the clarity of his presentation. They expressed confidence that Lagos would complete its E-Registration training before the end of November and reaffirmed the state’s reputation as a benchmark for digital innovation within the APC.

The Lagos exercise follows earlier training held for South-West APC states in October, led by APC ICT Department officials from Abuja under Dr. Umar Majigi. The statewide programme was officially flagged off by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and attended by National Working Committee members led by Dr. Ajibola Bashiru.

With broad leadership backing and a structured training cascade, the Lagos APC E-Registration exercise is gaining momentum, positioning the state to deliver one of Nigeria’s most comprehensive and technologically advanced political membership databases.
