Iran has released a video allegedly showing captured United States soldiers, a claim swiftly denied by Washington as hostilities escalate between the United States, Israel and the Islamic Republic.
The footage, circulating widely on social media, shows several men dressed in what appear to be U.S. military uniforms kneeling on the ground with their hands tied behind their backs while surrounded by armed personnel believed to be Iranian forces. The soldiers are seen with their hands cuffed behind them, apparently under guard.
Iranian officials suggested the troops were captured during retaliatory operations against U.S. interests in the region amid the ongoing military confrontation.
However, the United States military has rejected the claim, insisting that no American soldiers have been taken prisoner. U.S. defence officials said they are reviewing the video but maintain that there is no confirmed case of captured personnel.

The development comes as tensions continue to rise following the outbreak of hostilities on February 28, when the United States, alongside its ally Israel, carried out air strikes on Iranian targets. The attacks reportedly resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Since then, Iran has launched retaliatory drone and missile strikes against U.S. interests in neighbouring countries and against Israeli targets, widening the conflict across the Middle East.
U.S. officials say at least seven American soldiers have been killed since the crisis began, with no fewer than 104 others wounded in the fighting.
The ongoing confrontation has triggered a series of retaliatory strikes across the region, with both sides exchanging missile and drone attacks on military installations and strategic locations, raising fears of a broader regional war.
