Senate Minority Leader and Abba Patrick Moro has reaffirmed his steadfast commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), insisting he will remain in the party despite political pressures and shifting alliances.
Moro made the declaration during a large-scale decamping ceremony held at the Upu Open Field in Otukpo Local Government Area, where numerous members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Labour Party (LP), and other political parties formally defected to the PDP.
Addressing the massive crowd, Moro emphasised his loyalty, stating, “I told you from the beginning that I will not leave PDP and I will be here till tomorrow.”

The event highlighted a significant political shift in Benue State as numerous politicians and supporters joined the PDP, reinforcing the party’s position in the region ahead of upcoming elections.
Observers note that Moro’s declaration serves to consolidate PDP’s influence in Benue South and send a clear message to political opponents that he remains firmly aligned with the party’s platform.
The senator also used the occasion to welcome new members into the PDP, urging unity and collective effort to strengthen the party’s presence in the state.
Political analysts view the mass decamping as part of a broader strategy by the PDP to regain lost ground in key areas and bolster support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Moro’s continued loyalty and high-profile presence are expected to galvanise the party’s base in Benue South, enhancing its prospects in future electoral contests.
