President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Pesident Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Nigeria on Friday after leading the country’s delegation to the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, where Nigeria signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the United Arab Emirates to boost trade, investment and technology cooperation.

The agreement is expected to deepen economic ties between both countries and expand collaboration in key sectors including energy, infrastructure, agriculture, mining and renewable energy, as Nigeria pushes to attract more foreign direct investment and accelerate industrial growth.

On the sidelines of the summit, President Tinubu also announced that a joint Nigeria–UAE INVESTOPIA forum will be held in Lagos in February, aimed at bringing global investors to explore opportunities in the Nigerian economy.

Speaking at the summit, the President said Nigeria plans to mobilise up to $30 billion annually in climate and green industrial finance to support energy transition reforms and expand access to electricity nationwide.

The President was accompanied to the summit by some members of the Federal Executive Council, as Nigeria continues to position itself as a key partner in global sustainability and investment initiatives.
