President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the military, police, and the Department of State Services (DSS) to track down and apprehend those responsible for the recent terrorist attack in Kasuwan Daji, Niger State. The President also ordered the urgent rescue of abducted victims, including women and children.

The directives, issued on Sunday, follow the killing of villagers by terrorists suspected to be fleeing from Sokoto and Zamfara in the aftermath of a U.S. airstrike on Christmas Eve. Tinubu condemned the attack and extended heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and the government and people of Niger State.

“These terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people. They must face the full consequences of their criminal actions. No matter who they are or what their intent is, they must be hunted down,” the President declared. He added that anyone aiding or abetting the attackers would also be brought to justice.

President Tinubu assured Nigerians that security forces would intensify operations around vulnerable communities, particularly those near forested areas known to serve as hideouts for criminal elements. He also urged citizens to remain united and avoid divisive rhetoric that could weaken national security.

“United, we can and must defeat them, deny them any sanctuary, and reclaim the peace and security of these attacked communities,” the President said.

Security analysts expect a significant military and police response in the coming days, aimed at dismantling the networks responsible for the Kasuwan Daji tragedy.
