Former Big Brother Naija winner Phyna has expressed her desire to reconcile with singer Davido, nearly two years after a public online disagreement between the two entertainers.
The feud began in October 2023 when Davido liked a post on X that referred to Phyna’s fans as “useless.” Phyna reacted by questioning whether she had done something to deserve his apparent dislike, even as she congratulated Davido on the birth of his twins with Chioma.
Davido’s response at the time was dismissive, stating he did not know who Phyna was. In turn, Phyna replied, “God knows me,” and unfollowed the singer on Instagram, effectively ending direct interaction between them.
During a recent livestream, however, Phyna expressed willingness to “stream” with Davido and publicly apologise for the misunderstanding. She stated that before issuing an apology, she wanted clarity on what caused the original fallout.
“If I have the opportunity to stream with Davido, I will take it. Yea, he senior me, he choke pass me normal. I’m going to tender apology to him, but before rendering the apology, we need to understand where that our quarrel really dey come from,” Phyna said, speaking in pidgin English.

She added that she hoped Davido, whom she referred to as “Baba Ibeji,” could explain whether the post like was a mistake that sparked the conflict. “Like baba Ibeji needs to really tell me that na by mistake him take like that comment wey cause probably. Then he will now explain his side of the issue because you see that I don’t know you wey baba Ibeji talk, e fit be like say na we take am the wrong way,” she said.
Phyna’s comments indicate a willingness to move past the online dispute and foster a positive relationship with the singer. Fans and industry observers have welcomed the news, noting that a reconciliation between the two figures could bridge gaps between their fan bases and contribute to a more amicable entertainment environment.
The reality star’s initiative to reach out publicly also underscores the challenges of navigating celebrity interactions on social media, where misunderstandings can quickly escalate into widely publicized conflicts.
As the two-year anniversary of the online disagreement approaches, both Phyna and Davido have an opportunity to clarify the misunderstanding, potentially ending a feud that has lingered on social media and among fans.
