The Presidential Community Engagement Team has participated in a joint strategic meeting on non-kinetic approaches to peace and security in Nigeria, held by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA). The meeting aims to advance preventive, people-centred strategies that complement conventional security operations.

Led by Dr. Abiodun Essiet, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement for North Central, the team included representatives from South East, North West, and South South regions. Discussions focused on trust-building, inclusive dialogue, social cohesion, and strengthening community institutions as pillars for sustainable peace.

The participation of the presidential team underscores its role in fostering community engagement, building partnerships, and promoting peacebuilding initiatives across the country. Senior ONSA officials, including directors of state liaison and internal security, also attended the session.

As Nigeria works toward a comprehensive peace framework, the meeting highlighted the importance of a bottom-to-top approach that addresses the root causes of insecurity while advancing national unity, stability, and development.
