Nigeria’s rapidly expanding e-commerce sector is creating fresh opportunities for manufacturers and entrepreneurs, industry experts have said, as the country witnesses the launch of bitMARTe, a new platform designed to reshape online retail across the nation.
Currently valued at approximately $13 billion, Nigeria’s e-commerce market is projected to reach $17 billion by 2030, driven by rising smartphone penetration, improved logistics infrastructure, and greater adoption of digital payment solutions. Analysts note that these factors are creating a fertile environment for platforms capable of addressing persistent bottlenecks in the sector, including delayed deliveries, fragmented marketplaces, and low visibility for local products.
CBIT Industries Limited is entering this competitive space with bitMARTe, positioning the platform as a pan-African hub for online buying and selling. At the official launch in Lagos, Dr Eke Eke, CEO of bitMARTe Industries Limited, said the platform was created to address long-standing challenges that have hindered e-commerce adoption in Nigeria and across Africa.
“Our goal with bitMARTe is to provide a seamless, reliable, and locally focused online shopping experience. We aim to connect Nigerian manufacturers directly with consumers while ensuring that customers can access quality products efficiently,” Dr Eke stated.
bitMARTe will offer same-city, same-day delivery, alongside a wide range of merchants and products, with particular emphasis on Made-in-Nigeria goods. This focus, experts say, could stimulate domestic production, support small and medium-sized enterprises, and improve the competitiveness of local products in both national and African markets.
Speaking on the implications of platforms like bitMARTe, Dr Funke Adeyemi, a digital commerce analyst, said: “E-commerce platforms that prioritise logistics efficiency and showcase local manufacturing can accelerate growth for Nigerian businesses. They reduce barriers for entrepreneurs and provide consumers with better access to high-quality domestic goods.”

Industry observers also note that the platform’s technology-driven approach, including integrated payment solutions and streamlined merchant onboarding, positions it to address traditional pain points in Nigerian e-commerce, such as delayed delivery, low trust in online sellers, and limited transparency.
The launch of bitMARTe comes at a time when Nigeria’s e-commerce ecosystem is increasingly dynamic, attracting investment and innovation. By combining technology, logistics, and local content, platforms like bitMARTe are set to enhance consumer confidence, stimulate domestic manufacturing, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
With its strategic emphasis on Made-in-Nigeria products, efficient delivery, and broad merchant participation, bitMARTe is positioning itself as a key driver of Nigeria’s digital commerce transformation, creating new opportunities for manufacturers and offering consumers a more reliable and diverse online shopping experience.
