Paris Saint Germain PSG has advanced to the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League. The defending European champions played a 2 to 2 draw against Monaco on Wednesday. This result gave PSG a 5 to 4 aggregate victory in their knockout phase playoff tie.
PSG won the first leg 3 to 2 last week. Just like the first leg, the second leg match at the Parc des Princes saw Monaco lose a player to a red card.
Maghnes Akliouche gave Monaco the lead just before halftime. This goal leveled the aggregate score between the two French rivals.
The game changed when the referee sent off Monaco player Mamadou Coulibaly in the 58th minute. He received a second yellow card for a late challenge on Achraf Hakimi.
Following the red card, Marquinhos scored from a free kick to make it 1 to 1 for PSG. A few minutes later, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored the second goal for PSG after the Monaco goalkeeper failed to hold a powerful strike from Hakimi.

Jordan Teze scored a late goal for Monaco in stoppage time to make the score 2 to 2. However, PSG held on to secure their place in the next round.
PSG will find out their next opponents during the draw on Friday. They could face tough teams like Barcelona or Chelsea in the last 16.
