Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has expressed his disappointment with the performance of Galatasaray in their recent UEFA Champions League match.
The Turkish club secured qualification for the Round of 16 after defeating Juventus, but the Nigerian forward was not pleased with how his team played.
Galatasaray moved to the next round following an extra time win in the second leg on Wednesday in Turin. They secured a 7 to 5 aggregate victory because they had a 5 to 2 advantage from the first leg at home.

Osimhen scored a crucial goal to make the score 3 to 1 on the night. His goal put the Turkish side ahead on aggregate before Baris Alper Yilmaz scored a late goal to finally seal their qualification.
The 27-year-old Nigerian spoke live on CBS Sports Golazo after the match. He gave a very honest assessment of his team.
“If I have to be honest with you, I am disappointed with the performance of the team,” Osimhen stated.
“Kudos to Juventus for the kind of display they put up. We qualified, but we have a lot to improve on if we go into the next round to play the big dogs.
“This performance was not really good. Juventus deserved the win, but I am happy for my team to qualify for the next round,” he added.
The striker also pointed out that his teammates lacked courage during the game.
“Some of my teammates were timid. I tried to motivate them. I cannot do it alone. They were scared by the crowd and the way Juventus were playing.
“But I know this team, when you sit back and let them play, they will even do more damage. They even played better with the red card than when they were 11 players,” Osimhen explained.
Galatasaray could face Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur in the next round. Osimhen admitted that playing against Liverpool would be a very tough challenge for his team.
“Meeting Liverpool now is going to be like some sort of revenge,” he said. “Anyone we meet now, I would not say much, but I would like to escape Liverpool. But if they come, yeah, we are going to dig it out, but it is not going to be easy.”
