"Vandals Loot and Set Ablaze NCC Industrial Park in Kano, Sparking Widespread Condemnation

The yet-to-be-launched Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) Industrial Park in Kano was attacked and looted by hoodlums on Thursday, causing widespread concern and condemnation. The incident occurred simultaneously with the #EndBadGovernance protests at the Government House in Kano, where demonstrators rallied against hardship and hunger in the country.

Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, expressed his dismay on social media, stating, "I'm saddened to learn that our Digital Innovation Park in Kano, set to launch next week, has been vandalized and looted. This building was meant to host our technical talent accelerator (3MTT) and buildathon holiday maker programme for secondary school kids. This senseless act sets back our efforts to deepen our workforce for technology and create job opportunities for youth. Millions of Naira have been lost."

The NCC Industrial Park was designed to foster digital innovation and provide technical training to young Nigerians. The attack has halted the anticipated launch of the technical talent accelerator (3MTT) and the buildathon holiday maker programme, intended for secondary school students. The incident has sparked outrage and calls for swift action to address the destruction and ensure the safety of such initiatives."
