Tinubu’s Road Revolution: Umahi Unveils Major Infrastructure Push in Southeast

In a bold reaffirmation of his administration’s commitment to national development, President Bola Tinubu is set to complete all ongoing road projects, including the much-anticipated Ndibe Beach Crossing linking Ebonyi and Cross River States.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, during a recent inspection tour of the Ndibe Beach area in Afikpo. Speaking alongside top ministry officials, Umahi assured residents that the crossing project would soon commence, bringing long-awaited relief to communities in both states.

A Roadmap for Progress

According to Umahi, the project is a critical part of the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at transforming Nigeria’s road infrastructure. He urged residents to support Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing that the President is particularly focused on boosting development in the Southeast.

“The commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to infrastructure is unmatched. The Southeast remains a priority, and this crossing will significantly enhance trade, connectivity, and economic development,” Umahi stated.

With necessary approvals secured, the minister urged locals to ensure the safety of workers and government assets during the project’s execution.

A Game-Changer for Ebonyi and Cross River

Reacting to the announcement, Kingsley Ikoro, Leader of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly and representative of Afikpo West State Constituency, hailed the project as a long-overdue victory for the people.

“For years, our people have suffered due to the lack of a proper crossing. This project will not only facilitate easier transportation of goods but also unlock new economic opportunities for our farmers and traders,” Ikoro noted.

He described the crossing as a “legacy project” of the Tinubu administration, predicting that it would reshape the region’s economic landscape and end the struggles of local farmers who have long risked their lives transporting goods across the dangerous waterway.

As Tinubu pushes forward with his ambitious road infrastructure plans, the Southeast appears set for a new era of development—one that could redefine its economic and social fortunes.
