Tinubu’s Bold Vision: How His Government Is Transforming Rural Communities

By Achimi muktar

The Bola Tinubu-led administration is making strides toward rural development, with visible progress in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) serving as a blueprint for national growth. On Tuesday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the FCT, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to uplifting rural communities while inaugurating the newly constructed 11-kilometer Yangoji-Sukuku-Ebo Road in the Kwali Area Council.

This project, equipped with modern streetlights, marks the first of its kind in the area and symbolizes the administration’s pledge to prioritize rural development.

A Promise of Development

“This government is dedicated to the development of our people,” Wike stated during the inauguration. “All we urge is patience. At the end of the day, everyone will benefit from this administration.”

The minister also announced the fulfillment of a promise to build additional police stations in the area, assuring that construction is progressing swiftly. Furthermore, he pledged to construct a bridge over River Ebbo to connect more communities in response to a request from Kwali Area Council Chairman, Danladi Chiya.

“President Tinubu has given us the mandate to address the needs of our people, and that’s exactly what we are doing,” Wike emphasized.

Far-Reaching Benefits

The new infrastructure is already transforming lives. FCT Minister of State, Mariya Mahmoud, highlighted the road’s significant impact, stating it would enhance connectivity, improve access to education and healthcare, boost trade and commerce, and reduce insecurity.

“While the road may appear modest, its impact on the lives of rural residents will be profound, empowering them to lead healthier and more prosperous lives,” Mahmoud remarked.

A Game Changer for Kwali

The Yangoji-Sukuku-Ebo Road is part of a broader effort to make rural communities in the FCT more inclusive and sustainable. Abdulkadir Zulkiflu, Coordinator of the Satellite Towns Development Department, hailed the project as a “game changer,” emphasizing its alignment with global goals for sustainable growth.

Appreciation and Hope

Council Chairman Danladi Chiya praised Wike’s leadership for transforming the rural landscape of Kwali. He acknowledged the improved connectivity brought by the road project and renewed his appeal for a bridge at River Ebbo to further link underserved communities.

Gilmor Construction Ltd., the firm responsible for the road project, also received commendation for timely delivery and its additional work in renovating Sukuku Primary School.

A Blueprint for National Development

The Yangoji-Sukuku-Ebo Road serves as more than just an infrastructure project—it is a testament to President Tinubu’s commitment to fostering equitable development across Nigeria. With promises of further projects in the pipeline, the administration’s focus on rural growth signals a brighter future for underserved communities nationwide.
