By Achimi Muktar

In a groundbreaking move, President Bola Tinubu has announced a sweeping reform of aviation training in Nigeria, transforming the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, into a multi-campus institution spread across the nation’s geopolitical zones.

This strategic decision, shared by the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday via their official X account, aims to enhance efficiency, expand national coverage, and streamline operations within the aviation sector.

“President Bola Tinubu has decided to split the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria–Kaduna State, into six campuses to ensure efficiency, national coverage, and smooth operations,” the APC post declared.

The new campuses will be strategically distributed as follows:

Southwest: Akure, Ondo State

South-South: Osubi, Delta State

Southeast: Ebonyi State

North Central: Ilorin, Kwara State

Northeast: Yola, Adamawa State

Northwest: Zaria, Kaduna State (existing campus)

The restructuring underscores Tinubu’s commitment to fostering regional inclusivity and boosting aviation education nationwide. With this development, the Nigerian aviation sector is poised to produce world-class professionals equipped to meet global standards.

This initiative marks a significant milestone in the country’s quest for a robust and sustainable aviation industry. What do you think about this bold move? Share your thoughts!
