Southwest Stakeholders Dialogue Holds in Akure

Preparations are underway for the Southwest Stakeholders Dialogue, a major regional town hall session designed to foster engagement between citizens, political leaders, and senior government officials from across the Southwest.

The Dialogue is scheduled to hold from October 29–30, 2025, at the International Conference Centre (The Dome), Akure, with the theme:
“Strengthening Democracy Through Dialogue: Assessing Progress, Charting the Future.”

The event is hosted by His Excellency, Mr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Governor of Ondo State, and convened by Pa Reuben Fasoranti (CFR), Leader of Afenifere, under the auspices of Afenifere and the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission.

All Southwest Governors are expected to participate, alongside ministers from the region, heads of key federal agencies handling critical initiatives, political leaders, traditional rulers, professional associations, civil society groups, youth and women leaders, and development partners.

Programme highlights include keynote addresses, a Southwest Governors’ Forum, and thematic sessions on governance, economy, infrastructure, education, and security—aimed at strengthening democratic institutions and fostering regional development.

The Dialogue promises to be a landmark event, bringing together thought leaders and policymakers to chart a collective roadmap for progress in the Southwest and beyond.

Participation is strictly by invitation, and interested stakeholders are encouraged to register via sleek.bio/sws on or before October 20, 2025.
