President Tinubu to Embark on Economic Diplomacy Visit to China

 

In a bid to strengthen economic ties and attract investments, President Bola Tinubu will visit the People's Republic of China in the first week of September 2024. The visit, announced by Media Adviser Ajuri Ngelale, aims to foster cooperation between Nigeria and China, with a focus on key sectors such as ICT, oil and gas, and infrastructure development.

 

During his trip, President Tinubu will visit prominent Chinese corporations, including Huawei Technologies and the China Rail and Construction Corporation (CRCC), to fast-track the completion of the Lagos to Kano high-speed rail line. He will also engage in strategic meetings with 10 CEOs of major Chinese corporations, boasting assets under management totaling over $3 trillion.

 

The visit is expected to yield immediate and long-term benefits for the Nigerian economy and people, underscoring President Tinubu's commitment to economic growth and development. The president will also meet with his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping, and sign several Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) aimed at deepening cooperation between the two nations. The agreements will focus on key areas such as green economy, agriculture, satellite technology development, and national planning cooperation.
