President Tinubu Joins Leaders in Tanzania for Game-Changing Energy Summit

In a pivotal moment for Africa’s energy future, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will jet off to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, this Sunday to take part in the Africa Heads of State Energy Summit, a landmark event happening from January 27-28, 2025.

The summit, co-hosted by Tanzania, the African Development Bank, and the World Bank, revolves around an ambitious mission—“Mission 300.” This initiative seeks to electrify the lives of 300 million Africans by 2030, marking a bold step toward universal energy access on the continent.

Top leaders, private sector players, and development experts will convene to map out transformative strategies. Key focus areas include expanding renewable energy adoption, boosting energy efficiency, and attracting private-sector investments to power Africa's future.

President Tinubu is set to take center stage, delivering Nigeria’s national statement. He will reaffirm the country’s unwavering commitment to clean energy solutions and its trailblazing role in Africa’s energy sector. His address will underscore Nigeria’s efforts to enhance energy access while embracing sustainability.

A major highlight of the summit will be the endorsement of the Dar es Salaam Energy Declaration—a comprehensive roadmap designed to turn ambitious energy goals into tangible realities for millions across the continent.

Accompanying President Tinubu is a high-powered Nigerian delegation, including Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu, and Special Adviser on Energy Olu Verheijen. Together, they aim to ensure Nigeria remains a key voice in shaping Africa’s energy transformation.

As President Tinubu returns to Abuja after the summit, the eyes of the continent will remain fixed on the outcomes of this groundbreaking event—one that promises to illuminate the path toward a brighter, energy-secure Africa.
