Plateau State Police Command Smashes Robbery Syndicate,  Recovers Over One Million Naira Snatched From Traders.

The unwavering and consistent commitment of Plateau State Police command personnel have successfully curtailed activities of some criminal-minded individuals who have been  causing chaos and depriving innocent citizens of their means of livelihood across the state. 

Reeling out the operational success of the command, Commissioner of Police, Plateau State command Emmanuel Adesina commend the personnel, other security agencies, and citizens for the accomplishment in tackling crimes in the state. 
“It is worthy of note, that these operational successes are not only a testament of the diligence and commitment of our officers, but also the collaborative spirit of Plateau citizens and synergetic support from members of other security agencies. For this, I commend you all.” The Police Commissioner stresses. 

The operational breakthrough by the command for the period under review included the apprehension of armed robbers and suspected kidnappers in Bassa Local Government Area of the state where traders were attacked on the market day after selling three cows at the cattle market. 

Hoodlums armed with locally made guns attacked the traders and carted away the traders' proceeds from the sales of the cows in the sum total of N1,918,000 with other items such as phones and personal belongings. 

The timely intervention and investigation from the Divisional Office following the report of the incident by the victims led to the arrests of three suspects and recovery of the items, including the lump sum. 

Police Commissioner Adesina confirmed that the suspects confessed to have carried out the robbery operations as well as other armed robbery attacks along Bassa and Jengre communities of the local government area.

 The case is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department, and the suspects will be charged to court accordingly. 

Intelligence operations carried out by  the personnel also resulted in the recovery of fabricated rifle in Mabudu community of Langtang South Local Government Area of the state where locally fabricated rifles with an empty magazine were recovered from a house.

 However,  the suspect had fled from the scene by the time the operation was carried out. Security operatives are on the trail of the suspect for arrest and proper prosecution.
