"Petroleum Minister Hosts Crucial Meeting to Resolve Dangote Refinery Crisis"

 

In a bid to address the ongoing issues surrounding the Dangote Refinery, Nigeria's Minister for State, Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, convened a high-level meeting with top executives from Dangote Group, NMDPRA, NUPRC, and NNPC Ltd. The meeting aimed to find a sustainable solution to the current impasse affecting the refinery.

 

Present at the meeting were Aliko Dangote, Chairman and CEO of Dangote Group; Farouk Ahmed, CEO of NMDPRA; Gbenga Komolafe, CEO of NUPRC; and Mele Kyari, NNPC's Group CEO. The stakeholders expressed gratitude to the minister for his leadership and timely intervention in facilitating the dialogue.

 

The meeting focused on collaborative problem-solving, with all parties committed to ensuring the success and optimal performance of the oil and gas sector. The minister emphasized the importance of cooperation and synergy among stakeholders to achieve this goal.

 

The Dangote Refinery has been facing challenges, including allegations of frustration by International Oil Companies (IOCs) and issues with crude oil supply. The refinery is still at the pre-commissioning stage and has not yet been licensed.

 

The House of Representatives has resolved to investigate the alleged conspiracy by IOCs against the refinery. The minister's meeting is a significant step towards resolving the crisis and ensuring the success of the refinery, which is crucial for Nigeria's economic growth and energy security.
