NLC President Joe Ajaero Denies Allegations of Terrorism Financing, Vows to Continue Fighting for Workers' Rights

In a recent development, Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), was questioned by the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) regarding alleged terrorism financing, criminal conspiracy, and cybercrime. Ajaero denied the allegations, stating that the suspect in question was merely a tenant of the NLC and that there was no communication or consultation between them.

 

The interrogation, which lasted less than 30 minutes, was attended by human rights activists, including Femi Falana. Ajaero described the experience as a "friendly chat" and expressed his commitment to transparency and the labor movement's patriotism.

 

Addressing journalists after the interrogation, Ajaero declared that the labor movement would not be intimidated by external pressures and would continue to fight for workers' welfare. He emphasized that the allegations against him and the NLC were baseless and that they had nothing to hide.

 

Ajaero's appearance before the Police was in the interest of transparency and to clear the air on the unfounded accusations levelled against him and the NLC. He noted that the union would continue to champion the cause of workers across the nation, no matter the obstacles.

 

The NLC President's resolve to continue fighting for workers' rights remains unwavering, despite the challenges and allegations faced. His commitment to transparency and patriotism has reinforced the labor movement's dedication to its cause.
