The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Epe has heaped praise on Dangote Refinery for its decision to lower petrol and diesel prices, calling it a welcome relief for Nigerians struggling with rising costs.

In a statement signed by Dr. S.O. Jimoh, Chairman of the Epe branch, which oversees Epe and Ibeju-Lekki—home to the Dangote Refinery—the association lauded the move as a shining example of corporate social responsibility.

“While the refinery is a private enterprise designed to generate returns for shareholders, its impact transcends profits, touching critical areas such as economic stability, daily life, and the nation’s industrial value chains,” Jimoh noted.

The price cuts, Jimoh emphasized, reflect empathy for the economic challenges facing Nigerians and a commitment to societal welfare. The statement described the decision as a strategic blend of business acumen and social consciousness, acknowledging the refinery’s dual role as a profit-driven enterprise and a key driver of national development.

Commending the leadership of Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, Jimoh hailed his proactive approach to addressing economic pressures. “This initiative is a testament to Dangote’s dedication to balancing business success with the needs of the people,” the statement read.

With this move, Dangote Refinery has positioned itself not just as a game-changer in the energy sector but also as a champion of economic relief for millions. The NBA's endorsement underscores the growing recognition of corporate entities’ responsibility to contribute positively to society.
