Meet the 16-Year-Old Genius Who Scored 334 in UTME—While 75% of Students Struggled to Cross 200

While millions of Nigerian students are grappling with the shocking 2025 UTME results, where a staggering 75 percent scored below 200, one teenager has emerged as a shining star. Meet 16-year-old Ebule Oritsemeyiwa Precious, a final-year student at Federal Government College, Warri, who stunned the nation with a jaw-dropping score of 334 out of 400.
In a year when fewer than one percent of candidates managed to score above 300, Ebule’s result doesn’t just stand out—it defies the odds.
Breaking down his scores: Ebule earned 98 in Mathematics, 98 in Physics, 85 in Chemistry, and 53 in English. And this wasn’t a stroke of luck. Just weeks before the main UTME, he scored 326 in the mock exam conducted on April 10, with equally impressive marks—96 in Mathematics, 94 in Physics, 71 in Chemistry, and 65 in English.
A familiar name in the academic circle, Ebule is not just a brilliant student; he also contributes to the “MathsGE With MeyiBule” column in Fresh Angle International, an online publication co-founded by his father, Ebule Anthony Metsese, who serves as the Editor-in-Chief.
With sights set on Mechanical Engineering, Ebule is hoping to gain admission into the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Effurun, in Delta State.
His exceptional performance has ignited hope and admiration at a time when the nation is deeply concerned about the declining academic performance of its youth. As conversations around UTME reforms intensify, Ebule’s success is a powerful reminder of what is still possible with dedication, support, and academic discipline.
In a sea of low scores, Ebule Oritsemeyiwa is proof that brilliance still thrives.
