"Legendary Artist and Actress Onyeka Onwenu Passes Away in Lagos

Renowned Nigerian singer, actress, and broadcaster Onyeka Onwenu has sadly passed away. According to eyewitnesses, she collapsed at the 80th birthday celebration of Emzor Pharmaceutical CEO, Mrs. Stella Okoli, held in Lagos. Despite being rushed to Reddington Hospital in GRA Ikeja, she was pronounced dead.

A trailblazer in the entertainment industry, Onyeka Onwenu rose to fame in the 1980s after joining the Nigerian Television Authority. She went on to become a household name, releasing award-winning albums and hit songs that remain iconic to this day. Her talent and versatility also led her to excel in acting, earning her a reputation as one of Nigeria's most beloved performers.

Beyond her artistic achievements, Onyeka Onwenu was also a dedicated public servant, having served as the Local Government Chairman in her home state of Imo. Her passing leaves a void in the entertainment industry and beyond, as she will be deeply missed by fans, colleagues, and loved ones alike."
