"Lagos Governor Sanwo-Olu Mourns Death of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu"

 

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed his condolences over the passing of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide and President of Owerri Peoples Assembly. Describing his death as a "colossal loss" to Nigeria, particularly the Igbo nation and the media industry, Governor Sanwo-Olu praised Iwuanyanwu as a respected elder statesman and detribalized Nigerian.

 

In a condolence statement, Governor Sanwo-Olu sympathized with the Ndigbo community, Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma, and the people of Imo State over the loss of their illustrious son. He also extended his condolences to Iwuanyanwu's family, friends, and associates, as well as the management and staff of Champion Newspaper and his other businesses.

 

Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted Iwuanyanwu's contributions to Nigerian politics, sports development, and the economy, particularly in Lagos State, where his businesses provided job opportunities for many young residents. He praised Iwuanyanwu's philanthropic efforts and dedication to serving his community, state, and country.

 

The Governor concluded by praying for the repose of Iwuanyanwu's soul and asking God to grant the Ndigbo community, his family, friends, and associates the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
