Kubwa, Abuja building collapse casualties unknown

A building along Sultan Dasuki Road, off the Gado Nasko Road in Kubwa, Abuja has claimed number of people, as a section of the two-storey residential building collapsed today Saturday 13th of July, 2014.

The building is located near to popular Cupid Hotel in the Kubwa area.

The affected resident was the former Al-Hilal Hotel which got transformed to a hospital and most recently, a residential apartment.

Federal Fire Service emergency responders and security personnel were seen at the scene of the incident, rescue efforts were met with delays as the cranes required for the operation arrived late, The Traffic NG confirmed.

Two residents were rescued from the incident and immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, while a few others managed to escape independently.

Number of casualties is not ascertained as the time of filing this report.
