FEATURE STORY: IG Orders Arrest of Cops' Killers During Abuja Shi'ite Procession

Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has directed operatives to track down and apprehend those responsible for the killing of police officers during the recent Shi'ite procession in Abuja. The Police reported that two officers were killed and three hospitalized after being attacked by Shi'ite members, while the group claimed several of their members were killed and injured by police.

 

Condemning the killing of police officers, Egbetokun stated that "those who murdered these policemen have murdered peace." He reaffirmed the Force's commitment to arresting suspects and bringing the killers to justice, emphasizing his dedication to maintaining law and order.

 

The Force Spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, vowed to uncover the full extent of the attack to prevent future incidents. He extended condolences to the grieving families and wished the injured officers a speedy recovery. Adejobi emphasized the need for public support in maintaining law and order, especially in the face of extremist threats and violent crime.
