By Achimi muktar

KATSINA – In the face of relentless security threats, the Nigerian Air Force has doubled down on its commitment to national security, earning praise from the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Bala-Abubakar, for their unwavering dedication to safeguarding the country.

Speaking at the 2025 Sallah luncheon with the 213 Forward Operating Base and the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Katsina, Bala-Abubakar, represented by Air Officer Commanding Special Operations Command, Usman Abdullahi, lauded the gallant officers for their sacrifices and resilience.

“I wish to commend you, our gallant officers, airmen, and airwomen, for your unwavering commitment, not just to the mission, but to one another and to the security of our great nation,” he declared.

Amid ongoing counter-terrorism efforts, he assured troops that their welfare remains a top priority, pledging continuous investment in equipment, training, and support to enhance operational excellence.

Recognizing the harsh realities of their mission, Bala-Abubakar urged personnel to remain steadfast. “Every effort we make today strengthens our nation’s security and stability,” he emphasized, vowing that the Nigerian Air Force will not relent until ultimate victory is achieved.

Beyond praise, he also paid tribute to fallen heroes, acknowledging their sacrifices while praying for their souls. He extended gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his leadership and Governor Dikko Radda for supporting security operations in the state.

Earlier, Theatre Commander of Joint Task Force Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Garba Jibia, underscored the importance of the Sallah luncheon in boosting troop morale. He revealed that joint operations since January 2025 had resulted in the elimination of numerous terrorists, including key commanders, significantly weakening their operational capacity.

With the tide turning in favor of security forces, the Nigerian Air Force is poised to continue its relentless push against insecurity, proving that resilience and strategic action are the keys to reclaiming peace.
