*Benue Gov Suspends Aide Over Sextortion, Cyberbullying Allegations*

The Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has suspended his Special Adviser on Documentation, Research, and Planning, Mr. Mkor Aondona, indefinitely. This decision follows Mr. Aondona's arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of sextortion, cyberbullying, and blackmail.

In a statement, Governor Alia emphasized his administration's commitment to integrity, discipline, and accountability in governance. He warned that any official found guilty of criminal behavior would face the full consequences of the law.

"Public office is a sacred trust that must be carried out with honour, transparency, and responsibility," the Governor said. "Anyone who deviates from this will have no place in my administration."

The Governor assured the public that the legal process would proceed without interference and that the state government remains committed to protecting the rights and dignity of all citizens, particularly women and vulnerable groups.
