FCT Workers Mobilise For Mass Action Over N70,000, Wage Delay.
FCT workers are mobilizing for a three-day mass protest starting June 23, 2025, to demand the implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage and payment of unpaid arrears. The protest is led by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, and National Association of Health Workers Union in the FCT.

Reasons for the Protest:
- Delayed Payment: The FCT administration has failed to pay the N70,000 minimum wage despite a memorandum of understanding signed on December 11, 2024.
- Unpaid Arrears: Workers have accumulated unpaid allowances, with some owed up to five months' salary.
- Lack of Response: The FCT authorities have remained unresponsive to the workers' demands, prompting the labour union to issue a seven-day ultimatum.
Protest Details:
- Duration: The protest will last for three days, starting June 23, 2025.
- Participating Unions: Nigeria Union of Teachers, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, National Association of Health Workers Union, and Nigeria Labour Congress.
- Objective: To draw attention to the workers' plight and demand immediate implementation of the minimum wage and payment of arrears.
