Ex-Dunamis Pastor Exposes 'Staged' Miracles, Sparks Controversy With Explosive Claims

By Achimi Muktar

A former pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), Abraham Daniel, has sparked a firestorm of controversy with allegations that the miraculous healings showcased by the church and its Senior Pastor, Paul Enenche, are not genuine.

In an eye-opening interview with Kaa Truths, Daniel revealed his frustrations with the church’s practices, particularly its approach to healing and deliverance services, which he described as deeply flawed.

"The Miracles Are Not Real"

Speaking candidly, Daniel accused the church of creating an emotionally charged atmosphere during services, which he believes influences people into believing in false miracles.

“When you are in a crowded atmosphere charged with disco lights, music, and emotional triggers, it’s easy to believe something miraculous is happening,” he said. “But when the lights are off, and reality sets in, people realize their problems remain.”

Daniel shared his personal frustrations as a pastor, recounting how crowds would flood him with desperate requests to meet “daddy” (Pastor Enenche) after services.

“After healing and deliverance services, we often had more people seeking healing than those who initially attended,” he explained. “The frustration was overwhelming. You could see pain in people’s eyes, but there was little we could do.”

The "Environmental Effect"

Daniel likened the emotional impact of Dunamis services to the influence of a high-energy concert or a chaotic emergency.

“If you’re at a Burna Boy or Michael Jackson concert, for instance, you might forget a headache or malaria because of the excitement,” he said. “But once the crowd disperses, reality returns.”

He further illustrated this with a vivid analogy: “Imagine being in a stadium and hearing a tiger is loose. Even a cripple might jump the fence out of fear. It’s the same environmental effect during services—it pushes people to act out of desperation.”

Legal Troubles and Arrest

The controversy surrounding Daniel deepened when he, alongside Alex Enenche, the younger brother of Pastor Paul Enenche, was arrested by the Force Intelligence Department (FID) of the Nigerian Police. The duo was accused of cyberbullying and criminal defamation against Pastor Enenche.

Detained on January 7, 2025, Daniel and Alex were released the following day after an agreement to resolve the matter amicably. However, they were instructed to report back to the FID on January 10 and 13, 2025, for further questioning.

Daniel’s lawyer, Barrister Ernest Okpaga, criticized the detention, stating, “No clear reason was given for their arrest despite their full cooperation with the police.”

A Divided Public

The allegations have ignited a heated debate among Nigerians. While some supporters of Dunamis and Pastor Enenche dismissed Daniel’s claims as baseless, others expressed sympathy, praising his courage to speak out.

“This is a wake-up call for churches to prioritize genuine care for their members over theatrics,” said one commentator.

What Lies Ahead

As the story unfolds, the controversy surrounding Dunamis International Gospel Centre and its practices raises questions about the role of transparency and accountability in religious institutions.

For now, Daniel’s explosive revelations have cast a spotlight on the intersection of faith, emotion, and reality, leaving many wondering if more revelations are yet to come.
