Embracing Dialogue: A Call to Nigerian Youths on International Youth Day - Chief Sunday Akin Dare

As the world marks intentional Youth Day, we find ourselves at a critical juncture in our nation's history. The recent protests have highlighted the frustrations and aspirations of our young people, who are demanding a better future. However, in the aftermath of these protests, we must recognize the importance of embracing dialogue as a means of driving positive change.

Dialogue is the cornerstone of democracy, allowing us to express our grievances, negotiate, and find common ground. It is through dialogue that we can address the systemic issues that have led to our current challenges. By engaging in constructive conversation, we can create a platform for understanding, empathy, and collective problem-solving.

To Nigerian youths, we urge you to continue advocating for your rights and interests, but to do so through peaceful and respectful means. Channel your energy into building bridges, not barriers. Engage with leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to find solutions that benefit all.

Let us learn from the lessons of the past and recognize that violence and destructive behavior only lead to more suffering and division. Instead, let us choose the path of dialogue, empathy, and understanding.

As we celebrate international Youth Day, let us recommit to the values of peace, tolerance, and constructive engagement. Let us work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come.

Embracing dialogue is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength and maturity. It is through dialogue that we can truly unleash the potential of our youth and create a better Nigeria for all.
