Embrace CNG, Former Minister Sunday Dare Advises Nigerians.

Former minister of youths and sports development, Chief Sunday Dare has advised Nigerians to embrace the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to ease transportation challenges being faced as a result of removal of fuel subsidy.

In August 2024, President Bola Tinubu, inaugurated 30 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) powered buses at the State House, Abuja, as part of energy reforms initiated by his administration.

Similarly, the President directed the mandatory procurement of compressed-natural-gas-powered vehicles by all government ministries, departments, and agencies.

While advising Nigerians on Monday through his official "X" handle, Chief Dare explained that 50 litres of PMS is equal to 30 kilogrammes of CNG. Whereas the average fuel economy for PMS is 10 to 15km per litre for a typical passenger vehicle, average fuel economy for CNG is 20 to 25km per kilogramme. He however advised Nigerians to embrace CNG.

"CNG World. Time to pay close attention : 50 litres of PMS is equal to 30 kilogrammes of CNG. Findings have shown that "whereas the average fuel economy for PMS is 10 to 15km per litre for a typical passenger vehicle, average fuel economy for CNG is 20 to 25km per kilogramme..." Lets embrace CNG" Chief Dare tweeted
