BREAKING: FG Launches Free Business Registration for 250,000 Small Businesses — MSMEs to Save ₦3 Billion ❤️🇳🇬

In a bold move under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) have rolled out a free business registration drive for 250,000 nano, micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) nationwide.

Announced in Abuja during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the scheme removes the long-standing hurdles of cost and bureaucracy that have locked millions of entrepreneurs out of Nigeria’s formal economy.

CAC Registrar-General, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji (SAN), revealed that the Commission is forgoing ₦3 billion in registration fees to empower MSMEs with legitimacy, market access and financial opportunities. SMEDAN’s Director-General, Dr. Charles Odii, added that registered businesses will also gain aftercare benefits — including grants, training, technical support and access to new markets.

👉 To benefit, entrepreneurs must register on portal.smedan.gov.ng, after which qualifying businesses without CAC registration will automatically be enrolled.

This initiative is being hailed as a game-changer for small business owners, directly linking them to Nigeria’s MSME growth ecosystem and giving true meaning to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
