Azuta-Mbata, who represented Rivers East senatorial district between 1999 and 2007, was elected during a peaceful and widely celebrated poll held in Enugu. His election has sparked a wave of optimism among Ndigbo and beyond, with congratulatory messages pouring in from across the country.
