Real estate developers in Lugbe, Karu, and Kubwa have just three months to get their paperwork in order—or risk having their projects halted indefinitely!

The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has issued a strict ultimatum, demanding that all developers in these areas regularize their construction approvals by May 3, 2025. Until then, all ongoing construction has been suspended.

FHA's Bold Move to Enforce Compliance

In an official statement released on Sunday, the FHA announced that developers must report to its headquarters at No. 26 Julius Nyerere Crescent, Asokoro, Abuja, starting February 3, 2025.

To avoid penalties, developers must present crucial documents, including:

Letters of Allocation

Approved Building Plans

Payment Receipts

Consent Letters (for transferred properties)

According to the FHA, the suspension of construction is a necessary step to ensure all projects comply with federal regulations.

"Developers must submit their documents to us for verification and approval to continue their projects," the statement emphasized.

A Lifeline for Defaulting Commercial Developers

The FHA also introduced a special amnesty program for commercial property owners who lack the necessary approvals.

With the May 3, 2025 deadline looming, developers now have a chance to rectify any missing documentation without facing immediate penalties.

"This amnesty window allows developers to ensure that all documentation is in order and that their projects comply with FHA guidelines," the statement explained.
